Elementary School

Elementary School (ages 6-12)

The Elementary School hosts children aged from 6 to 12. The students are divided into two groups called Lower Elementary (Taller 1 in Spanish, for ages 6 to 9) and Upper Elementary (Taller 2, for ages 9 to 12), which have different activities and responsibilities adapted to the students’ ages. At the age of 6, children move from the Kindergarten to the Elementary School and start a period of ‘transition’, that is, a period of adaptation during which they become acquainted with the Elementary school but can spend time in the Kindergarten if they so wish.

At the age of 6 and until the age of 12, children enter the world of logical and abstract reasoning and experience greater social interaction whilst broadening their subjects of interest.

The Elementary School Premises

Our objective is to offer a range of learning environments where children can feel comfortable and safe to express their real interests. Here they have access to a wide range of learning proposals and a variety of materials – manipulative and non-manipulative – which they can use following their interests and learning rhythms. In this process, the Elementary school teachers work as accompanying guides, facilitating access to information and materials so that the students can achieve their learning goals.

Our materials are largely, but not exclusively, Montessori.
